In-Game Rules]

This rule can be explained simply by quoting a famous childrens movie quote:"You shall never bother others, you shall be both fair and kind. And whatever else you do, I shall not mind."Simply put, this should sum up anything from OOC racism, hatriot, name calling, rudeness, spam, CAPS lock abuse, spamming reports/text, general PM and /b misbehaviour and whatever not. Be kind to others and think before you type. There is no need to be hurtful or abusive to others, especially towards admins who are here to help you out. This also goes for destroying other players' property such as vehicles. Think about whether you really need to or whether you can simply roleplay that you have without actually causing the damage. Apologise for your actions or offer compensation to those that you accidently kill or destroy their property, it's only fair. Just be nice to eachother. In IC text, we use English, and only English. No internet language (lol, omg, lmao) and to speak in other languages, you write in english with a [LANG] tag in front of your text. (For example - John_Smith: [Spanish] Hey what are you doing?)Punishments:

      • Punishments will vary from a fair warning over PM to a permanent server ban depending on severity.

    1. Do Not Metagame.

Metagaming is using out-of-character (OOC) information in-character (IC). Inciting (Informing someone OOCly of something IC) someone to metagame is also against the rules.Example:

      • Ex.1 - John_Smith reads Sam_Johnson's nametag above his head and roleplays that he now knows him.

      • Ex.2 - John_Smith has been told OOCly that Sam_Johnson is outside and is now using that information to influence his in-character actions and/or decisions.

      • Ex.3 - Adam_West PM's John_Smith that the police are outside his house and as such John_Smith uses this information to influence his in-character actions and/or decisions.

      Punishments:

      • Anything from an admin jail to a ban depending on severity and the actions affected by your metagaming.

      • Teamspeak/Skype (VoIP) is only to be used for ingame communications for law enforcement factions.

    2. Do Not Powergame.

Powergaming can be defined as either:

      • Performing acts that just aren't humanly possible or realistic

      • Forcing roleplay on to someone else and not giving them a proper chance in the roleplay.
      • Making up certain situations/decisions which only benefits your character and not roleplaying their negative effects. (see Ex. 3, Ex. 4 and Ex. 5 below)

      Example:

      • Ex.1 - John_Smith runs across the street, flips over the handrail, lands perfectly on his feet and continues to run away from the cops.

      • Ex.2 - John_Smith kicks Sam_Johnson on the chin causing Sam to have a seizure.

      • Ex.3 - Roleplaying a child character who can shoot guns, drive expensive cars etc but then stating that your character cannot be arrested due to his/her age.
      • Ex.4 - Roleplaying having tinted windows on your car whenever you have something to hide, but without actually tinting them beforehand.
      • Ex.5 - Stating that you have hidden your items via a /me previously when they are actually on you up to that point.

      Punishments:

      • Admin jail

    3. Roleplay at all times

Usually there is always a difference of opinion sparking during the roleplay and at moments you feel that it should end. Slowing down and/or stopping the pace of the roleplay can sometimes make the situation worse. The attitudes there can grow more resentful, people could pull up and/or pull off during it, just about anything. This includes but is not limited to:

      • No healing during fights.

      • No ninja-jacking other players (Pulling players out of their vehicle with no roleplay) unless being chased or in a situation where it would be impossible to type a /me.
      • No quitting the game to avoid being arrested or getting into roleplay situations with people.
      • No vehicles allowed inside the mall
      • No provoking others without proper IC reason (This includes provoking cops into chases or other inmates at SACF)
      • No Olympic Swimming (defined as continuous swimming with no physical effect to your character)
      • Roleplay taking out large weapons (M4, AK47, MP5, Sniper Rifle, Rifle, Baseball Bat, Katana, Cane, RPG)
      • No advertising of illegal items (weapons, drugs etc)
      • No abusing bikes/motorbikes (hopping about, tapping W to go faster etc)
      • You are not allowed to role-play a character which was already Character Killed (CK)
      • Radios (/r) and phones are IC only, so no OOCly chats or discussions over these. Also Radios can only be used as Radios, nothing else (SMS, PTM, AIM, PAGER etc.)
      • You may not get CK'd while there is a court case in progress involving you. Only exceptions are if you are being CK'd out of a faction. You are however not permitted to return to said faction on ANY character in ANY future (OOC banned) from said faction. This also includes if you have been court ordered to do something or pay/reimburst someone. You may not CK until the debt is paid. Failure to do so will result in a ban and effectively admin forced removal of goods from your character. This includes any form of name change as well. You are also banned from transferring, selling or giving away items, monetary or not, from your character, until the debt is paid.

      Punishments:

      • Punishments can vary from short or long admin jail times to a permanent ban based on severity.

      • Take screenshots if you feel the roleplay is not up to standards so that you can report it in the Report Player forum. Be sure to inform the other party that you will be posting one so they can post their side of the story during it.

      • Use /re or /report if you feel an administrator should step in during the roleplay. Continue the roleplay until you are told to stop by an administrator even after reporting. Admins often spectate the scene for a minute or two so they can understand the situation before arriving on scene, so continue roleplaying.
      • You are allowed to stop the roleplay if the other side is making you sexually uncomfortable. Take screenshots and/or use /re or /report during the scene for an administrator to step in.
      • Do not roleplay in OOC areas:
        - Adminjail
        - While administrators are on scene handling the current situation.

    4. Do not use third party modifications.

The rule on this is very strict. Usually third party modifications gives a person an advantage over other players which isn't fair.Bottom line is, you need to know exactly what you're doing before installing skin mods to make sure they comply with this rule. Failure to do so puts you at liability if you are discovered to be using something that may be used for personal gain.If you know of someone that is using a mod or a hack, then you MUST inform an administrator. Failing to do so may result in you being banned for harbouring a hacker.Examples:

      • CLEO

      • Cam Hack

      • Health hacks.

      • Sobeit

      • Scripts to avoid AFK timers, receive paychecks etc

      Punishments:

      • Permanent Ban

      • The ELM CLEO modification is allowed for LAW and FD on duty only.

      • Cam hack can only be used with admin consent and supervision.
      • Keybinders are allowed to enhance roleplay, but must not be used as a replacement for typing out commands.
      • Skin modifications are perfectly fine as long as they do not affect other players - as they are only visual modifications for yourself.
      • CLEO Stream Memory Fix is allowed to be used for those players who have an excessive amount of skin modifications installed.

    5. Do Not Deathmatch

Deathmatching (known as DM) is when you kill another person without a sufficient roleplay reason to do so.This also includes revenge killing. This is when you respawn after being player killed and attempt to or kill a person who has just killed you. Your memory is wiped of everything that led up to your death when you are murdered.Punishments:

      • Admin Jail or Kick. Severe deathmatching will result in a ban.

      • Deathmatching in admin jail will result in a permanent ban.

      • With regards to revenge killing, if you are saved by the medics (FD) after being brutally wounded then you are allowed to continue the roleplay, with your memory intact.

    6. Do not Bunnyhop

Jumping to get somewhere faster is against the rules. Although you may find this form of transportation to be convenient and quick it is abuse of San Andreas physics.Punishments:

      • Warning or a kick.

      • Admin jail for repeat offending.

    7. You are allowed to ignore OOC chats during roleplay situations unless an admin is talking to you.

If you're in the middle of a roleplay situation and another player is using any of the OOC chats in an attempt to disrupt roleplay or simply contact you, you may ignore it. However, if an administrator is trying to speak with you in any of the OOC chats for any admin related issue, you are obliged to respond to them. Refusing to listen to or ignoring an admin when they're trying to contact you can result in punishment.Example:

      • /b Can you give me some money?

      • /pm Why did you knock me out?
      • /b Who owns this car here?
      • /pm Why are you arresting me? I already paid my fine!

      Punishments:

      • Warning or kick. Admin jail for repeat offending.

      • If you have been killed, you may PM the killer to ask for clarification on why this was the case. As the killer or attacker, it is common courtesy to answer the question to ensure the player does not accidently end up revenge killing.

    8. Do not AFK/idle/alt-tab for any longer than 10 minutes or in public. The use of any animations or scripts to stop the script detecting you AFK after 10 minutes is not allowed.

You are allowed to be AFK for any time up to 10 minutes, provided you are not in a highly populated area. If you do go AFK in an area where people are likely to attempt to roleplay with you, you can be kicked regardless of the time you have been idle in that area for. The use of anything to stop the script detecting you as AFK is strictly forbidden.
